As I bounce back and forth through draft posts on WordPress, I feel like I can’t put off this post too long since it was with friends and many of you have already read some of their recaps
Last Thursday, Kath invited our group of friends out for $2 beers at Nolen Kitchen. We’d been there before for a beer promotion (thanks to Kath receiving event updates I believe) and I was looking forward to trying the beers they actually had to offer.

The Husband and I decided we didn’t feel like making dinner and thought the menu looked good, so we headed out early to catch a bite to eat before our friends arrived. Diana and Dan had the same idea and arrived just as we sat out on the patio so of course we decided to have dinner together!

Before ordering, we all decided on drinks. I really enjoyed the Blowing Rock Ale during the last visit (it was their promotion) so I decided to get one again. It did not disappoint! Diana had a blueberry bellini (I believe) and the boys got Fat Tire (maybe?).

Just as our food arrived, the rest of our friends showed up: Kath, Matt, Allison, Caitlin, Jason, and Kate.
To start, I ordered Risotto Fritters to share with the Husband, Diana, and Dan. They were creamy and the marinara was perfect with it. It had a touch of sweet which was very nice.

Diana and Dan ordered Crab and Artichoke Dip and kindly shared with us.

For our entrees, both the Husband and I ordered their Grilled Cheese. It was 3 kinds of cheese on sourdough with bacon and tomato (no bacon for me) with fries on the side. We liked it, but didn’t love it.

We spent a few more hours hanging out, catching up, and enjoying the $2 beers ![]()

Until it became night and I got this beautiful picture of the sky behind the restaurant sign…

Good night!

Okay, seriously hungry between the crab dip picture and the grilled cheese description. Yum!
