BLT Burger at The Mirage

Ooh wee! A blog post relatively close to when we actually went somewhere :-) The Husband and I spent Thanksgiving here in our new state of Nevada and had the pleasure of having a good amount of my family out to visit (or at least I had the pleasure ;-) ).  My parents, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and some cousins all made it out for the holiday weekend which was also the Husband’s birthday weekend.  We had a great Thanksgiving celebration at our house (I’m officially a decent hostess for a large holiday party!) and we headed down to the Strip on Friday evening to enjoy the city.  My parents, my sister, the Husband and I spent some time exploring the Mirage, Caesar’s Palace and Forum Shops, and the Bellagio before heading back up to the Mirage for a show.  Prior to the show, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat with plans to meet up with the rest of the family after the show.  When we walked back into the hotel from outside we walked past BLT Burger and decided to jump in line.  It was quite long, but moved relatively quickly and we were seated once we reached the front.

My sister was on a photo taking kick all weekend and captured one of my new favorite pictures of the Husband and I :-) I’ll be getting this on the blog as our new photo soonish!

Since this was a mini meal, my mom and I went with Spiked Milkshakes and fries! My milkshake on the left was the Night Rider – Kahlua, Chocolate Liqueur, Oreo Cookies and Chocolate ice cream.  My mom’s was the Fuzzy the Bear – Peach Schnapps, Peaches, and Vanilla Ice Cream.  Both were delish but neither were particularly strong.  Non-spiked milk shakes would have been cheaper and just as tasty I imagine.

My sister enjoyed a few sips of mine :-) The Husband went with a Stone IPA and I made him pose for a picture.

On to our snacks, the Husband ordered the Vegetable Salad. The menu said it was Lettuce, Cherry Tomato, Cucumber, and Onion.

What actually came out included the above plus radishes, olives, feta, and a creamy italian dressing all over the salad.  The Husband was disappointed in the misrepresentation of the menu item and was generally unsatisfied with the salad.  He appreciated that the waiter seemed concerned when the Husband asked about whether he received the correct salad and seemed willing to fix the problem, but the Husband stuck with it.

We all decided to go with fries for our main snacks :-) My sister got the wedges, the Husband had sweet potato fries, and my mom and I each had waffle fries.  They were tasty but came with the Strip price of $5 per side.

Overall, BLT Burger met our needs for a pre-show snack.  Our server was friendly, but the restaurant service was slow.  We were in the restaurant over an hour which seemed odd for the lack of complexity in our meal.  We can’t speak to the burgers, but recommend the milkshakes and fries!
