A number of weeks ago, a friend invited us to join him and his girlfriend and a group of their friends at a Las Vegas minor league baseball game. The Husband and I aren’t generally baseball fans (we were bigger fans as kids, of course – Cubs and Orioles) and we’ve never been to a game together before, but we figured it would be fun to catch a minor league game with a big group of people. And we were right!
Las Vegas’s minor league team is located at Cashman Stadium, not too far from Downtown Las Vegas.
One of the greatest things about minor league baseball (at least based on my singular visit to a game now), is how close the fans get to sit to the game.
The stadium wasn’t too crowded which was nice when it came time to get in line for food, drink, and the restrooms.
There also appeared to be a bar/patio area overlooking all of the seats.
They had all of the baseball food mainstays – hot dogs, pretzels, peanuts, soda, beer – as well as things you don’t normally see such as Frito Chili Pie and Chili Cheese Fries.
I went with my go-to baseball food – a hot dog with ketchup. Yum ![]()
The Husband took advantage of the $1 beer night. If you’ve been reading a while, you know that we prefer craft beer, but who can turn down a $1 Bud Light?
One of my favorite parts of the night – the mascot! He’s an alien a la Area 51 which the team is named after.
Overall, this was a really fun, cheap date night. Tickets are anywhere from $10-$14 and can run cheaper with packages for multiple games or group rates. If you live in the Vegas area and haven’t been yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a lot of fun for the whole family!
