This post has been sitting in my drafts for months now… I can’t believe how quickly time has flown since our move. One of the Husband’s and my favorite Charlotte restaurants was 300 East. Somehow, though, we never blogged about it. Thankfully, a handful of our good friends wanted to take us to dinner before we moved and we suggested this place as the place to go.
300 East is a converted house turned restaurant. The menu offers seasonal and local specialties and we’ve never had anything there that we didn’t like.
There’s a patio out front with tables available for dining on beautiful nights.
A bar to your left upon entering the restaurant as well as a handful of tables.
The restaurant is adorned with antique furniture, which I love!
A stairway off to the right of the entrance takes you to the second level dining rooms.
There are cozy booths and tables throughout.
Little touches add to the ambiance of the restaurant.
The menu has a reasonably sized wine list.

Having recently come back from Australia and having been introduced to the Grenache grape, I ordered the Grenache, Evodia 2008 from Spain while the Husband ordered the Hob Nob Pinot Noir (I think!). There was some confusion with the waiter, though, and I ended up with the Grenache Blanc Chardonnay. I enjoyed the wine, especially once I realized the mistake.
The table ordered pimento cheese and crackers to share. Oh how I miss Pimento Cheese! (This picture was after I realized I forgot to take one!)
I started with the French Onion soup and the Husband ordered a salad.
The Husband ordered the Black Bean and Green Chile Chicken Tortilla for his entree. It included Brown Rice, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, Avocado, Lime Crema & House-Made Salsa on a tortilla. Seeing this picture brings back the distinct memory of how much he enjoyed this dish. More than expected he would.
I ordered the Pimento Cheese Burger (I told you above how I miss pimento cheese!). I chose asparagus as my side and I believe it was too salty. I love asparagus though so there’s not much you can do to screw it up.
We also had side dishes of additional asparagus and some risotto.
Our friend Kindell ordered the ravioli and enjoyed it so I snapped a photo ![]()
While I don’t think we ordered any, the dessert menu looks so good. I wish we had had some!
I’m glad we have finally gotten around to blogging about 300 East. It truly was one of our favorite restaurants in Charlotte. The dishes are unique, flavorful, and just downright good. The atmosphere is perfect for nearly any occasion. We will definitely miss this place. Thanks to our friends for taking us out!!
