Since I was in Portland for only two days and most of that time I’d be working, I didn’t get much opportunity to explore. However, the morning of my first full day, I pulled myself out of bed slightly early to head out for a brisk morning walk and to try to get photos like the Husband’s good at getting when he visits a city. I didn’t get too far as I only had a half hour or so to walk, but in that short distance, I loved the mix of architecture I saw. Not knowing what any of these buildings are, I’ll leave you just to enjoy the scenery ![]()

Question: Architecturally, what’s your favorite city?
I am a huge fan of Charleston (SC) architecture. It’s all pretty historic, though, so you have to like that. If you’re into modern architecture, then you’ll be disappointed. Fortunately, I love historic towns and architecture and Charleston is one of the best examples of that. Second to that, I’d have to say I love (stateside) I love NYC. Not very original but you get a nice mix of historic and modern architecture.
@Michelle – Those are two of my favorite as well. When we went to Charleston in May, I was so happy to be able to get a better look at all of the older homes and love that they go back so far in history.
