S’MAC – Sarita’s Macaroni And Cheese

When my girlfriends and I first started planning the details of our weekend in New York, I had recently recently learned that New York has restaurants dedicated to mac and cheese! (Thanks to Runner’s Kitchen!)  Jaclyn recommended that we try out S’MAC – Sarita’s Mac and Cheese and I couldn’t wait! (You know much the Husband and I love our mac & cheese!)

(According to their website, the owners came up with the idea for this awesome place while eating at Peanut Butter & Company, my other must-visit location for the weekend!)

Once we all arrived at Jaclyn’s apartment, we headed out to S’MAC in the East Village for a late dinner.  Thankfully they’re open until 11pm for dine in!

I was overwhelmed with options! There were three menus on the wall with all sorts of meat, cheese, and veggie combos.  You could get one of their recipes or build your own combination.

Multiple sizes too as well as a tasting option (the pan in the top left eight slots so you can try many).

The place is cozy with a handful of tables.  Luckily, one opened up shortly after we ordered.  (For those opting not to dine in, you can have it delivered if you live within a certain radius or you can do a “take and bake” option.)

We decided to get a salad to split…

And then each ordered a Nosh (small) size of various flavors.  I debated for a while (and was the last to order) but chose the Cheeseburger Mac N Cheese.  It was simple with ground beef, american cheese and cheddar cheese.  Delish!

Colleen went with the Cajun Mac N Cheese.  This included Cheddar & Pepper Jack cheeses, andouille sausage, green pepper, onions, celery, garlic and Cajun seasoning.  She was quite pleased!

And last but not least, Jaclyn ordered Buffalo Chicken Mac N Cheese (one I seriously considered).  This included Cheddar & American cheeses with boneless chicken pieces, buffalo wing sauce, and crumbled blue cheese. It was quite spicy!

This was an awesome kick off to our weekend of awesome eats!  I’ve raved to the Husband about it and we’ll definitely check it out the next time we’re in town together.  It’s a good thing I don’t live in NYC as I think I would become poor eating here frequently :-) (Though their prices and sizes are super reasonable!)
