Charleston, SC – Things to Do and Where To Eat

Hi readers!
Next weekend the Husband and I are headed to Charleston, SC for the first time to celebrate my birthday. We’re looking for any suggestions you have on what to do and where to eat while we’re there :-) We’d love to hear about all of your favorites! We’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and post our great weekend when we get back!

  1. Charleston is one of my favorite places to visit! We try to go there at least once a year.

Seconds on Blossom – we had one of our best Charleston meals there.

SNOB is excellent – get the caramalized/roasted (or something) pear salad – I believe it’s a seasonal special, but see if they have it – it’s fab! All the food we had here was wonderful.

I LOVE High Cotton for brunch. Their French Toast is huge. I like the steak and eggs. They usually have live jazz, which is nice.

Try the Shipwreck of Richard & Charlene for something low-key. It’s on Mt Pleasant and was once visited by Giada. The restaurant is hard to find and has no sign in the front, but it’s a local favorite. Stick w/ the fried food, though. Get the fried shrimp. Delicious!

There’s a really good pizza place off the main strip where the market is. It’s in a little alley with shops. They’re open late if you guys hit up the bars and want to eat after normal dining hours.

Try Shem Creek one night – tons of restaurants. I think the good one (or one we like) is Reds?

Be sure to check out the candy stores. Try the pralines especially.

Have a wonderful birthday and I hope you guys have an awesome time in Charleston!

    :) Diana
