A few weekends ago, the Husband and I were craving sushi and heard good reviews from friends on a relatively new sushi place not too far from our house – Fuji Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse.

As soon as we walked in, though, and realized it was a japanese steakhouse, we changed the game plan and decided to not just get sushi! We hadn’t been to a japanese steakhouse in about a year and a half so we were excited!
As somewhat usual, we started with drinks…
Sapporo for him

And a glass of Chardonnay for me ![]()

Sitting at a table with strangers, I didn’t want to stick out too much with the camera so I got a pic of the chef cooking across from us while we sipped on our drinks.

In normal japanese steakhouse fashion, we started with Miso Soup and a salad with ginger dressing.

Since we originally planned on sushi, we still wanted to try some. I believe this was the Philadelphia Roll (or something similar) – salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. Yum!

The Husband loves lots of wasabi in his soy sauce (can you see the bits floating?) – my prefered sauces on the right…

Our rices – fried rice on the left for me, plain steamed white on the right for him.

The obligatory moving volcano on fire
(I love all the grilled veggies!)

My final plate – shrimp, scallops, veggies, and noodles with fried rice and sauces in the back. So good! And great as leftovers too!
