One evening in DC, I met up with a good friend for a beer and dinner at Gordon Biersch at Tysons Corner. I used to go here all the time in my first job for happy hour with my friends and it was nice to come back after so many years away. Seasonally I believe they present a special menu – at this time it was Caribbean! (exclamation point included in the special
)

GB makes a number of their own beers. I decided to try the Sommerbrau (good thing they put it on the glass because there’s no way I would have remembered weeks later!). I’m generally not picky about beers, but I was not a fan of this one. I drank most of it, but would not order it again. It was a shame as I’ve liked their other beers in the past. :-/

My friend and I decided that we should order an appetizer off of their seasonal menu so we went with the Coconut Shrimp. Delish!

For my entree, I went with Goat Cheese Ravioli with mushrooms and I believe olive oil.

I love goat cheese, but in ravioli, it seemed a bit dry. Perhaps from the boiling? I enjoyed the dish any way but would try something else next time I’m there. If I remember correctly, they do have tasty burgers and southwestern egg rolls ![]()

I love goat cheese!!
