During one of my trips to DC, I actually got to make it into the city with some friends for brunch. In college and for the first few years after graduation, there were a small handful of bars that my friends and I used to drink and dance at on Saturday nights. One of those bars was The Front Page. The first few years, I had no idea what the food tasted like
but finally tried it shortly before I moved away. When trying to decide where to eat in the Dupont Circle area, I suggested checking this place out again as I hadn’t had lunch or brunch there previously.

The restaurant is quite large and has a lot of places to sit inside and out. It was quite hot out so we chose to hang out inside that day.

I started with my summer favorite: Sam Summer
Delish!

For my main course, I ordered Eggs Chesapeake – eggs benedict with a crabcake instead of ham/bacon.

SO good
I’m partial toward Maryland crab cakes and these were quite tasty. A risk that you run when ordering crab cakes is that some restaurants may use a lot of filler (breadcrumbs I believe) to make the crab cakes bigger with less crab. This was not the case here. Lots of wonderful crab with an appropriate amount of filler.
On the side were potatoes and a fruit salad. The fruit salad was a little heavy on the honeydew, but refreshing.
Something to note: The Front Page has a brunch buffet on Saturday and Sundays with the option of unlimited mimosas or bloody marys. If you’re up for a large breakfast, it looked like it might be a good choice for approximately $20. When we move back one day, perhaps we’ll check it out ![]()

Gosh, I love crabcakes… looks delish!
